WestOne and its affiliates provide freight forwarding, customs brokerage, bonded warehousing, cross-dock, transportation and specialized material handling resources focused on and specific to the Wind Turbine industry. WestOne’s wind energy group works from Idaho Falls, Idaho and Des Moines, Iowa with current distribution facilities serving the Pacific Northwest and portions of the Midwest. Facilities are strategically located at Inland Ports within the Mid-Continent (NASCO) and the Inter-Mountain (CAN-A-MEX) trade & transportation corridors.
WestOne has the technology, facilities, relationships and resources to receive, transport, warehouse and distribute all types of specialty cargo and wind turbine components for new construction, repair and replacement of wind turbine equipment and auxiliary systems through distribution facilities strategically located at select Inland Ports throughout North America.
Each Inland Port location has rail access with intermodal capabilities, customs brokerage, drop lots, cross-dock, secure outside storage and staging area for large items such as blade and tower components as well as indoor, secure, controlled environment storage of small components.
WestOne works with customs brokers and customs officials insuring accurate, timely and complete control of all documentation and compliance issues relating to customs clearance, trade laws and other import procedures. State of the art inventory control systems with complete real-time visibility of inventory and product tracking provides total customer control of the status of their inventory.
